Home Tuition Service

Overview

Students unable to attend school from Year 1 to Year 11 for at least three consecutive weeks due to illness, medical condition (if it is not contagious) or injury can be referred for home tuition service. Students are provided with a compensatory educational service which aims to minimise the effect of absence from school by, providing continued education in Maths, English, and Maltese. Referrals require medical certificates, and coordination between school and Home Tuition teachers is important to ensure smooth reintegration. 
 


What you'll get

Students aged 5 – 16 years are entitled to lessons in three core subjects: Mathematics, Maltese Language, and English Language. These lessons are provided in the students' homes under adult supervision. 


Eligibility

Learners are eligible for the Home Tuition service if:
 
•    They have been diagnosed as being chronically ill (but not contagious) and are unable to attend school;
•    They have a medical condition which requires them to be absent from school for a period of not less than four weeks;
•    They are recovering from a surgical intervention, fractures or an accident.
