Early Intervention Service

Overview

If a child shows delays in two or more developmental areas, they can be referred to Early Intervention Service. The service is offered from 0 to 5 years of age. After obtaining parental consent, the child's needs are assessed, and strategies or group sessions are provided to support their development in areas like communication, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory issues.


What you'll get

A family-centred and comprehensive support system for children with developmental disabilities, delays or syndromes, and their families in the first five years of life.


Eligibility

Children are eligible for the Early Intervention service if they are between 0-5 years old and there is an indication of:
 
  • developmental delay in two or more areas of development (Physical, Communication and Language, Self-Care, Social and Emotional, and Cognitive).
 
  • a diagnosed condition that has a high probability of resulting in developmental difficulties e.g. Spina Bifida, Autism Spectrum Disorder.


How to apply

The service is offered by NSSS through referrals from schools.
